Getting your day in court...
The Sun has two stories today about legal challenges to zoning and development decisions. Both cases are well-known -- Comp Lite referendum and the Plaza tower in Town Center -- so I won't rehash all the details. In fact, I don't really feel like writing another post about either issue since the basic facts of each are still the same.
Really, all I want to say is: There has to be a cheaper way for us to settle disputes like these.

The cheaper way is to pay taxes and elect people who represent citizenry. At this point, we're paying taxes for elected officials to represent the interests of one business sector while citizens are lacking representation.
It's so simple, it boggles the mind. Add infrastructure expansion costs and subsidies for lower cost housing into land developing and building taxes/fees, while giving tax incentives for building green.
What? We're waiting for the developers to volunteer to pay these costs associated with their business activity?
