More endorsements...

This time from the Police union, whose approved list of candidate is identical to that of the teacher's union. They are, according to the Examiner:

» Courtney Watson, D, for the District 1 council seat

» Calvin Ball, D, for District 2 seat

» Jen Terrasa, D, for District 3 seat

» Joshua Feldmark, D, for District 4 seat

» Wayne Livesay, R, for District 5 seat

» Kenneth Ulman, D, for county executive

Not a very surprising list, to be sure.

What a shock. Wayne Livesay is the only Republican endorsed by a union that otherwise endorsed all Democrats.

What a shock. The only Republican candidate on the local level that may win and could do a decent job is not supported by the party. The GOP is where the Dems were in the mid 1990s--on the way down.

The police unions have absolutely NO credibility. Really - endorsing Joshua Feldmark???? The guy has no worthwhile experience other than holding secret CA meetings and brokering a back door deal with Ken Ulman and General Growth under that charade (oops I mean charette) for Columbia Town Center, at a cost of $250,000. And now we find out that the whole plan is not even feasible because the intersections would fail and there is no sewer or water capacity (the press has not mentioned this yet, but call Public Works and ask them about it). Maybe if the unions made their endorsements based on the candidates credential and experience instead of on who will guarantee them the biggest raises each year (same goes for the Teachers' Union), then Howard County get get some quality leaders in place to undo all of the corruption that has occured under Mr. Robey, Mr. Ulman, and Mr. Guzzone.

It would be interesting to know what corruption you are talking about.

I'm talking about the Comp Lite fiasco where Ulman, Robey and Guzzone BROKE THE LAW. The County Code/Charter clearly states that no zoning requests may be added to the 10-year Comprehensive Zoning Process AFTER a certain point. Those three officials DID add a bunch of requests, including the Korean Church request, AFTER the cut-off point. So they BROKE THE LAW.

I can also tell you that there are numerous cases where those three persons directed DPW and DPZ to NOT require certain developers, backed by certain lawyers, to construct infrastructure improvements as the LAW REQUIRES them to. Instead, they have been using tax funds to pay for those infrastructure improvements. That is ILLEGAL.

Please - get your head out of the sand and wake up to the fact that the Democrats in office right now are corrupt as corrupt can be.
