Why did they cover over the hole I punched in the wall...

Preservation Howard County's list of endangered buildings is out and all three of Frank Gehry's Columbia projects made the cut.

If you remember, when the list was still being discussed a few months ago, Merriweather Post was not included. I like to think my compelling arguments contributed to the ultimate decision to include our beloved concert venue. And, as always, nothing you can say will convince me otherwise.

Didn't he do the Banneker Station as well, bringing the list to at least 4?

D'oh. You're right.

You were essential in the Merriweather decision by the county to maintain the current use of the facility, and we all also had hopes for repairs and improvements. That in turn led to a retreat by the Rouse (pre-GGP) company back to being in favor of the real Merriweather we all remember for decades. I know. I was on the county's Merriweather Committee and I secretly bought and wore one of your overpriced T-shirts to "Save Merriweather". I am a sucker for a good cause.

There is a downside. GGP owns the facility essentially with the right to do what it wants within the limits of its zoning/open space. One option is do whatever will enhance the market value of downtown development. There are many possibilities to ask GGP about when they release their plans

The only person who saved Merriweather was Ken Ulman. I remember that from his campaign.
